Flottish- how it all began

In the summer of 2023 we purchased our new family home on Flotta, a small island in Orkney, Scotland.

We moved there from Cumbria with our five kids. Being into arts and crafts and having ran a business selling locally handmade gifts in the North of England, we decided to continue in this line of work when we moved.

It's not too difficult to work out how we decided on a name for our new venture... Flottish! A portmanteau (merged word) between Flotta and Scottish.

We take inspiration for our gifts from the beautiful colours and wildlife that surrounds us here on this unique little island lying in a body of water called Scapa Flow.
